Dale Abbey
The story of Dale Abbey began in the 1130's when a Derby baker named Cornelius saw a vision of the Virgin Mary. She told him to go to Depedale ( the old name for Dale Abbey) and live a life of solitude.
The children visited the cave of Cornelius, All Saints Church (parts of which date back to 1150) and the remains of St Mary's Abbey.
