Check-mates

Congratulations to Sarah Murphy who has won through to the Gigafinal stage of the British Land UK Chess Challenge 2002. She finished joint second in the Megafinal competition held in Nottingham on May 19th. The Gigafinal will take place in Sheffield in July, where Alice stands to win a first prize of £100. A case of Cheque-Mate!

Also taking part in the competition in Nottingham were Joseph Cullen, (this years school champion,) Sean Wright, Sam Moulds and Sean Marshall.
