Special 6's

On Thursday 23rd May, an excited class of 11 year-olds (Year 6) went on a trip to Special 6's, an event especially for Y6 pupils in the Nottingham diocese held at Mansfield Leisure Centre. At the event they were joined by about 1000 other Y6 pupils from 27 other schools, so it wasn't surprising they met up with an ex-classmate (Thomas Banks) who moved away when they were in Y3. At the event they joined in lots of special songs, shared some of their good artwork at the Liturgy and enjoyed a quick lunch and a run around on the neighbouring school's playing field, before returning to the hall for more songs and a play/parable about a mouse and a tortoise. The whole hall shook as the children screamed, jumped and stamped their feet to the final hymn, Zion. During this thunderous racket, Mr Geraghty was seen devouring Paracetamol by the packetful in a hopeless attempt to calm an agonizing headache, to which his class weren't being very sympathetic!
